The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) announced Sunday that the man suspected of shooting at top Russian military intelligence official General Vladimir Alekseyev has been arrested in Dubai and handed over to Russia.

According to Russian Investigative Committee spokeswoman Svetlana Petrenko, the suspect, Lyubomir Korba, a resident of Ukraine’s Ternopil region, allegedly attempted to assassinate the general earlier this week on orders from Ukrainian intelligence when he arrived in Moscow in December to carry out the attack.
“Korba arrived in Moscow in late December following instructions from Ukrainian intelligence to carry out the terrorist attack,” Petrenko said.
The FSB, in cooperation with Russia’s Ministry of Interior, also identified accomplices in the assassination attempt, including two Russian citizens.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov accused Ukraine of orchestrating the attempt to sabotage diplomatic talks, while Kyiv denied any involvement in the shooting.
The assassination attempt occurred on Feb. 6 in a residential building along the Volokolamsk Highway northwest of Moscow, where the assailant fired several shots at the general before fleeing.
The Russian Investigative Committee has launched a criminal investigation into the attempted assassination of the high-ranking general.
