On the humanitarian front, a deputy spokesperson for the UN secretary-general said at least 18,000 families, or around 150,000 people, have been displaced in Yemen since the beginning of September.
Meanwhile, the Yemeni prime minister stressed that the battle to restore full state authority does not end simply with changes in the front lines.
Amid international and regional diplomatic efforts, a spokesperson for the US Central Command said Admiral Cooper recently met with senior civilian and military leaders in Saudi Arabia.
The US vice president also said Washington is closely following developments in Yemen in coordination with Saudi Arabia, noting that there has been communication with the Houthis.
