In a recent report, the office stated that it has documented six Israeli attacks from the beginning of 2026 until the end of April, resulting in the martyrdom of 26 members of the police force—identities confirmed by the Ministry of Interior in the Gaza Strip.

The UN organization emphasized that police personnel are classified as "civilians" under international law, provided they do not participate directly in hostilities. It underscored that the deliberate targeting of these individuals constitutes a breach of the principle of distinction and amounts to a "war crime."

In a related context, the report indicated that the month of April alone saw the martyrdom of 122 Palestinians at the hands of Israeli forces and settlers across the Occupied Palestinian Territories. This figure includes 22 children, 8 women, two journalists, and 6 police officers.
