A Palestinian child was martyred on Sunday after being targeted by an Israeli occupation drone in the city of Khan Yunis, in the southern Gaza Strip.
The Palestinian news agency, WAFA, quoting medical sources, reported that a drone dropped a bomb toward a group of Palestinian citizens in the Qizan Abu Rashwan area, south of Khan Yunis. The attack resulted in the child being struck by shrapnel, leading to his immediate martyrdom before reaching the hospital, while others sustained various injuries.
In a related context, medical sources in Gaza reported a worsening crisis regarding the shortage of laboratory testing materials and blood bank supplies. The deficit has reached 86% of total requirements, with the stock of many essential items hitting zero.
The same sources clarified that blood gas testing materials have been completely exhausted at the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital laboratory, while remaining quantities in other hospitals are only sufficient for a few days.
Officials warned that this ongoing shortage threatens medical follow-up procedures for patients, hinders surgical operations, and directly impacts emergency cases and intensive care units.
Gaza continues to witness persistent tension despite the ceasefire. Israeli strikes continue to result in Palestinian casualties periodically, amid setbacks in implementing the agreement's terms and ongoing disputes over mechanisms for delivering humanitarian aid and military withdrawal.
