Reuters also quoted Trump as saying, “I’m looking for more than just a ceasefire in Iran; I’m aiming for a real end to the conflict there.”
He added, “The Iranian nuclear program will be eliminated.”
Earlier, in an interview with CBS, Trump clarified that he had not called for a ceasefire between Iran and Israel, emphasizing instead that he wanted a genuine end to the war through Iran’s abandonment of its nuclear ambitions.
President Trump expressed hope that the dismantling of Iran’s nuclear program could be achieved without direct U.S. military involvement.
