Oman: Relationship with the United States must be reset
Omani Foreign Minister Badr Al-Busaidi said on Tuesday that complex discussions are currently underway to formulate a long-term arrangement that guarantees freedom of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz.اضافة اعلان

Al-Busaidi added that his country bears a responsibility to work with Iran and the international community to reach an agreement ensuring freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz. He considered that the most dangerous threats to Gulf security do not originate from within the region, but rather from decisions and actions from outside it, particularly in "Tel Aviv."

He emphasized that "the relationship with the United States must be reset to become more consistent with a strategic reality revealed by the war," noting that "the current war was a disaster, lacked a United Nations mandate, and achieved none of its objectives."

Meanwhile, Iranian Army Spokesperson Major General Mohammad Akrami-Nia announced on Tuesday that the Iranian armed forces will absolutely not back down regarding the Strait of Hormuz, stressing that the strait will not be opened through war.

The spokesperson stated that "the Strait of Hormuz will not be reopened through war, hostile maneuvers, or American aggression, and the only way to reopen the Strait of Hormuz is by respecting the rights of the Iranian people."

This follows an official announcement by Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) closing the Strait of Hormuz to maritime navigation "until further notice," linking the move to ending what it described as "American interference" in the region.

The announcement came after a violent round of reciprocal strikes between Washington and Tehran.
