"Minutes ago, five explosions resounded west of Bandar Abbas," the state television said, without providing further details, amid ongoing tensions between Iran and the United States over control of the strategic Strait of Hormuz.
The US military said late Monday-Tuesday night that its forces had completed a new wave of strikes against Iran.
"During the five-hour mission, US forces successfully struck military targets across Iran, including Bushehr, Chabahar, Jask, Konarak, Abu Musa, and Bandar Abbas," the US Central Command said in a statement.
It explained that it used precision munitions against "Iranian coastal defense systems," missile and drone sites, and naval capabilities.
It also noted that more than 50,000 US troops are deployed across the Middle East, confirming the readiness of these forces.
