Lebanese President Joseph Aoun on Tuesday condemned the repeated attacks targeting Jordan and the Gulf states, stressing that the security and stability of Jordan and the Gulf countries are an inseparable part of Arab national security.
In a statement, Aoun described the attacks as “clear and multi-sourced attempts” aimed not only at undermining the security of those countries but also at systematically destabilizing the Gulf region and keeping the broader Middle East in a constant state of tension and uncertainty in service of agendas that do not seek the well-being of Arab peoples.
He reaffirmed Lebanon’s full solidarity with Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and the Gulf states, emphasizing that their security and stability are an integral part of Arab national security and that any violation of their sovereignty is also an attack on Lebanon’s and the Arab world’s strategic depth.
Aoun’s statement comes amid an unprecedented military escalation in the region following the renewed exchange of missile and air strikes between Iran and the United States. At the same time, Iran has launched attacks against countries in the region, while the Houthis have fired ballistic missiles toward southern Saudi Arabia.
