Italian Base in Iraq’s Kurdistan Region Targeted by Missile Strike

The Italian Ministry of Defense announced on Thursday that an Italian military base in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq was targeted by a missile strike overnight, with no reported casualties.اضافة اعلان

In a statement posted on the "X" platform, the Ministry said: "In the early hours of Thursday, a missile struck our base in Erbil. There were no deaths or injuries among the Italian soldiers; they are all safe and well."

Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani stated in a separate message on "X" that the Italian military personnel took cover in a bunker and are all "safe and secure."

According to the Ministry of Defense website, Italy has approximately 300 soldiers stationed in Erbil, tasked with training the Kurdish security forces.
