GAZA — On Monday, the Israeli occupation army declared that 222 confirmed hostages are being held by the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) in the besieged Gaza Strip. This announcement comes after 17 days of operation “Al-Aqsa Flood.” According to Israeli army spokesperson Daniel Hagari, Hamas is executing ambushes against occupying forces in various locations. He mentioned that gathering points are under target. Israeli occupation forces are conducting "limited incursions" into the Gaza Strip in search of hostages. Hagari emphasized that the Israeli occupation army is closely monitoring humanitarian aid entering Gaza to ensure that Hamas does not access it. He added, "We are prepared to escalate operations to prevent that."
