Akrami stated that the Strait of Hormuz falls under the strategic control of Iran’s armed forces, explaining that the western side of the strait is overseen by the naval forces of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, while the eastern side is under the control of the Iranian Army’s naval forces, according to the Iranian news agency Tasnim.

He said that this coordinated and integrated control strengthens Iran’s monitoring capabilities and sovereignty over the region, adding that such control could generate economic returns for the country reaching up to double its oil revenues.

He further stated: “We will not allow any country to pass American weapons through the Strait of Hormuz, and if such weapons had previously been stationed at regional bases in the area, most of them have now been destroyed.”
