Israeli warplanes launched a series of airstrikes on the tents of displaced families in the Al-Mawasi area of Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip, resulting in the killing of five Palestinians — including two children — and injuring dozens of others.

The strikes on Al-Mawasi caused several tents to catch fire, burning them along with the displaced people inside, further worsening the suffering of families who had sought the area as a safe haven.

Medical sources at the Kuwait Specialized Field Hospital reported that ambulance crews recovered five bodies from the “Al-Najaat” displacement camp in Al-Mawasi, noting that the victims’ bodies arrived completely charred.

Simultaneous airstrikes also targeted the western parts of Khan Younis, while Israeli military vehicles opened fire in the eastern part of the city amid heavy flights of warplanes overhead.

In Gaza City, Israeli drones fired shots near the Al-Shuja’iya intersection in the city’s east, causing widespread fear among residents and displaced families in the area.

On Thursday morning, two Palestinians were shot dead by Israeli forces in the Al-Zaytoun neighborhood of Gaza City and were transferred to Al-Ahli Arab (Al-Ma’madani) Hospital.
