Bashar Murad, Director of Health Programs at the Red Crescent, stated that this contamination has led to a sharp rise in hepatitis cases, with over 70,000 infections recorded since the start of the conflict.
The Ministry of Health previously confirmed these figures, highlighting the urgent need for treatment outside Gaza and calling for the immediate opening of crossings to prevent further spread of infectious diseases.
Gaza’s health sector is facing an unprecedented collapse, with over 41% of kidney patients dying during the conflict, while 67% of medical supplies are completely unavailable within the local healthcare system.
