On the runway at Istanbul Airport, moments before takeoff, Turkish enforcement authorities detained an Iranian Boeing aircraft at the request of a Turkish services company seeking payment of €3 million in outstanding debts.

Turkish judicial and enforcement authorities detained a passenger aircraft operated by Iranian airline Caspian Airlines at Istanbul Airport after a local aviation services company launched legal proceedings to recover €3 million in outstanding debts.
Lawyers representing Turkish ground-handling company ACM Temsil Gozetim, accompanied by enforcement officers, entered the aircraft apron area as the plane was completing its final preparations for a flight to the Iranian capital, Tehran, in implementation of an urgent court order issued by the competent court. Enforcement officers ordered the crew to cancel the flight and immediately disembark all passengers, who were transferred to the airport’s waiting areas. The aircraft remained under direct judicial custody and authority pending settlement of the financial dispute.
The detained aircraft is a Boeing 737-500 registered under the code EP-KPB. It has been part of Caspian Airlines’ fleet since joining the company in January 2020.
The Iranian private airline, established in 1993 and headquartered in Tehran, operates a network of scheduled domestic and international flights to several regional destinations, particularly Turkey. The judicial detention adds to the financial and regulatory challenges facing the airline as it seeks to maintain its cross-border operations.
