The coalition had announced Monday that it intercepted and destroyed two drones over the Riyadh region, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), citing Al-Maliki.

The coalition also announced Monday that its air defenses intercepted and destroyed a ballistic missile launched by the Houthi group toward southern Saudi Arabia. This followed its announcement Sunday that it had intercepted and destroyed a ballistic missile and a drone launched by the group toward the same region.

On Sunday, the coalition announced a military operation it described as a “qualitative” operation aimed at neutralizing vital facilities that it said the Houthis use to support their war effort and strengthen their military capabilities, particularly ballistic missiles and drones.

Al-Maliki said the operation came amid continued attacks targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure in Saudi Arabia and Yemen, as well as threats to maritime security in the southern Red Sea. He reaffirmed that the coalition would continue taking the necessary measures to deter such attacks.

Meanwhile, the Houthis claimed Monday that they had carried out drone attacks targeting Dammam Airport in Saudi Arabia, an early-warning radar system in Jazan, and a military transport aircraft at Jazan Airport. Saudi authorities have not confirmed the reported attacks.
