Sharabaty wins silver for Jordan in Tokyo and writes history

AMMAN — Saleh Al-Sharabaty delivered Jordan’s first medal of the Tokyo Olympics 2020 on Monday evening. The 22-year old taekwondo athlete won the silver medal for the 80 kg category.اضافة اعلان

After a very impressive performance in his first three bouts, Sharabaty reached the final and faced off against his Russian opponent Maskim Sergeyevich Khramtcov. The Jordanian displayed an outstanding performance, leaving it all on the court.

Sharabty was in outstanding form ahead of the final, dispatching Richard Ordermann of Norway 5-4 first and then securing a 17-15 win in the quarter finals against Morocco’s Achref Mahboubi. He then produced a stunning performance, winning in the semifinals against Uzbekistan`s Nikiti Rafalovic.
