COVID-19: Infection numbers keep down trend Friday

AMMAN — The Ministry of Health announced that the number of COVID-19 deaths reached 81 on Friday.  Meanwhile, 3,794 new cases were recorded in the Kingdom on the same day, bringing the death toll to 7,646 and the caseload to 659,250.اضافة اعلان

The ministry said that 1,510 cases were recorded in Amman, 912 in Irbid, including 140 in Ramtha, 248 in Balqa, 210 in Zarqa, 207 in Mafraq, 179 in Jerash, 149 in Karak, 131 in Ajloun, 91 in Tafileh, 81 in Aqaba, 68 in Maan, including 4 in the Petra region, and 8 in Madaba.

The ministry added in a statement that some 391 had recovered and were discharged from hospitals while 370 others were admitted, as the total number of COVID-19 patients in hospitals stands at 2,827. The number of active COVID-19 cases in the Kingdom stood at around 70,434, the statement noted, as cited by the Jordan News Agency (Petra).

More than 4,399 COVID-19 patients, including patients who had been self-isolating, fully recovered. Around 12.39 percent of the 30,617 COVID-19 tests that were conducted Friday came back positive, compared with 12.02 percent on Thursday.
