96 COVID deaths, 4,775 infections reported Thursday

AMMAN — The Ministry of Health announced that the number of COVID-19 deaths reached 96 on Thursday.  Meanwhile, 4,775 new cases were recorded in the Kingdom on the same day, bringing the death toll to 7,565 and the caseload to 655,456.اضافة اعلان

The ministry said that 1,841 cases were recorded in Amman, 894 in Irbid, including 59 in Ramtha, 688 in Zarqa, 239 in Balqa, 215 in Karak, 188 in Mafraq, 163 in Aqaba, 130 in Madaba, 113 in Ajloun, 109 in Maan, including 5 in the Petra region, 89 in Jerash, and 106 in Tafileh.

 
The ministry added in a statement that some 337 had recovered and were discharged from hospitals while 342 others were admitted, as the total number of COVID-19 patients in hospitals stands at 2,933. The number of active COVID-19 cases in the Kingdom stood at around 70,120, the statement noted, as cited by the Jordan News Agency (Petra).

More than 6,444 COVID-19 patients, including patients who had been self-isolating, fully recovered. Around 12.02 percent of the 39,735 COVID-19 tests that were conducted Thursday came back positive, compared with 13 percent on Wednesday.
