Data from the American Automobile Association (AAA) on Monday showed that the national average reached $3.98 per gallon, surpassing last week's levels and marking an increase of approximately 6% compared to the previous week.

The highest prices are concentrated in Western states, with California recording $5.869 per gallon, Washington State at $5.322, and Nevada at $4.902.

These developments come within the context of rapid field escalations in the Middle East. The military confrontation began on February 28, when the United States and Israel started targeting sites within Iranian territory, including the capital, Tehran.

In response, Iran has carried out retaliatory strikes on Israeli territory and U.S. military bases in the region. This conflict has led to a complete halt in maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, a vital artery for oil and Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) supplies from Gulf countries to global markets, resulting in a significant surge in fuel prices worldwide.
