In a press statement, Al-Kharabsheh noted that the approved emergency plan has been put into effect. This involves transitioning to alternative energy sources, including natural gas via the Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU), as well as the use of diesel or heavy fuel oil.

The Minister explained that switching to diesel instead of natural gas costs the National Electric Power Company (NEPCO) approximately 1.8 million Jordanian Dinars (JOD) per day.

Al-Kharabsheh offered reassurances that Jordan maintains a sufficient strategic reserve and that there are no technical issues regarding the supply chain or energy delivery.
