NEPCO head checks on southern power facilities’ operations, safety measures

AMMAN — Chairman of National Electric Power Company (NEPCO), Omar Alkurdi, and its General Manager, Amjad Rawashdeh, stressed the importance of adhering to public safety measures and ensuring quality performance in the energy sector, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.اضافة اعلان

Touring the Liquefied Petroleum Gas Terminal in the Aqaba city, southern power transmission plants, and Ma’an energy maintenance enter on Thursday, Alkurdi and Rawashdeh highlighted to the facilities’ workers the importance of their role in sustaining the electricity distribution network and supplying major consumers, such as Jordan Phosphate Mines Company (JPMC) and fertilizer factories, with their energy needs.

The du also referred to the workers’ efforts to supply energy through the Jordanian-Egyptian interconnection project and renewable energy generating stations to the distribution centers in the Kingdom’s central and northern regions.

Alkurdi said compliance with public safety and professional standards is necessary to ensure the sustainability of operations and preserve production forces.

He also praised the energy workers’ performance and their role in maintaining electrical system quality on the national transmission network and the sustained chain to supply power plants with fuel.

For his part, Rawashdah said the visit aims to review work plans and prepare to deal with any increase in electrical loads.

At Liquefied Petroleum Gas Terminal in the Aqaba city, Alkurdi stressed the importance of adhering to the facility’s safety conditions as part of the gov’t keenness to adhere to performance standards that ensure the stability of supply chains, prevent any imbalances in the electrical system, and ensure maintaining its high durability.

He also stressed the importance of providing electricity to consumers with the best international specifications and standards and maintaining the security and safety of the Kingdom’s electrical grid.

In addition, he called on optimal integration of scientific capabilities in NEPCO’s work and tasks and benefits from its “advanced” technology and modern technical equipment.
