The Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, Eng. Sami Al-Samarat, stated that Jordan has achieved unprecedented qualitative leaps in the field of digital transformation and electronic government services, thanks to the integration of efforts between the Ministry and various other ministries and government institutions.

According to a ministry statement today, Monday, this came during a session organized by the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship in cooperation with the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), as part of the project “Together for Accountable and Transparent Public Administration in Jordan,” funded by the European Union, and attended by a number of IT and institutional development directors from ministries and government institutions.
Al-Samarat added that the tangible achievements reflect Jordan’s commitment to modernization, noting that 1,728 government services have been digitized with a completion rate of 72%, and over 500 services have been launched through the “Sanad” application and electronic platforms, with a plan to reach 80% by the end of this year and 100% by the end of 2026.
He further stated that the number of digital ID users has exceeded 1.8 million citizens, and that key projects have been launched, including the Digital Hospital for remote health services, electronic passports, the tax invoicing system, and electronic gates at Queen Alia International Airport, which have facilitated passenger processing procedures.
Additionally, an Open Data Platform has been launched, comprising over 3,800 datasets, alongside the e-Participation portal – “Tawasul” – to enhance transparency and accountability. Nine comprehensive government service centers have been launched out of 15 planned, completing over 3.7 million transactions with a satisfaction rate of 98%. Other achievements include the development of the unified national registry of government services, the “Ajyal” educational information management platform, and the establishment of a primary data center in Amman and a secondary one at the National Center for Security and Crisis Management.
During the session, the OECD Digital Government Policy Officer, Song-Joo Park, presented the OECD framework for digital government and international best practices to ensure inclusivity and bridge digital gaps.
