The announcement came during the committee’s monthly meeting to set local fuel prices for the period 1–28 February 2026, reviewing global crude oil and petroleum product prices in January compared to December. The review showed a global price drop for gasoline (both 90 and 95 octane) and stable diesel prices.
After applying the global pricing formula, the committee found:
Octane 90 gasoline decreased by 20 fils/liter
Octane 95 gasoline decreased by 20 fils/liter
Diesel prices remained unchanged
Accordingly, the committee approved the following new local retail prices:
Octane 90 gasoline: 810 fils/liter (down from 830)
Octane 95 gasoline: 1,035 fils/liter (down from 1,055)
Octane 98 gasoline: 1,185 fils/liter (down from 1,205)
Diesel: 645 fils/liter (unchanged)
The committee also decided to maintain the price of a 12.5 kg domestic gas cylinder at JD 7 per cylinder.
