Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei expressed skepticism on Tuesday regarding the outcome of ongoing nuclear negotiations with the United States, stating bluntly that the talks are unlikely to yield any results.

In a speech commemorating the late Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, Khamenei was quoted by Tasnim News Agency as saying:
“I do not believe the nuclear talks with the United States will lead to an agreement. I don’t know.”
He added a pointed message to Washington, saying:
“Since we are speaking of negotiations, let me remind the other side: the American side, which is engaged in these indirect talks, should negotiate seriously and avoid speaking nonsense.”
Khamenei strongly rejected U.S. and Western objections to Iran's uranium enrichment program, declaring:
“Saying that Iran will not be allowed to enrich uranium is a grave mistake. No one waits for permission to act. Iran has its own policies and follows its own path.”
He hinted that he would further elaborate on Iran’s stance in the future:
“At another time, I will explain to the Iranian people why we insist on enrichment and why Western and American parties are so adamantly opposed to it. I will lay this out, God willing, so that the Iranian people understand the other side’s intentions.”
His comments come as Noor News reported earlier on Tuesday that Iran has received a proposal to hold a fifth round of nuclear talks with the United States and is currently reviewing it, according to Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi.
These developments reflect deep-seated mistrust and a lack of optimism in Tehran, despite ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at reviving the stalled nuclear agreement.
