The Saudi-led coalition in Yemen said it would respond with full force and “unprecedented strength” to any attempt to target Saudi Arabia.
In a statement issued early Saturday, the coalition said, “We will confront with firmness and unprecedented force any attempt targeting the Kingdom, its citizens, its national assets, or the sovereignty of the Republic of Yemen, in accordance with international humanitarian law and its customary rules.”
The coalition added that Saudi Arabia had sought to resolve the Yemeni crisis through a roadmap that was rejected by the Houthi movement.
It also said that recent Houthi statements directed at Saudi Arabia were an attempt to divert attention from the group’s own violations.
The statement came hours after the Iran-aligned Houthis warned they would target Saudi airports and critical infrastructure on land and at sea if Saudi Arabia continued what they described as violations of Yemeni airspace.
