The United Arab Emirates announced on Friday that its national cybersecurity system had successfully thwarted sophisticated cyberattacks targeting several organizations operating in the country’s financial sector.

According to the Emirates News Agency, the UAE Cybersecurity Council detected the attacks and responded in line with national cybersecurity protocols, helping contain their impact while ensuring the continuity of financial services and the stability of the country’s digital infrastructure.

The agency said the attacks included attempts to compromise digital systems and critical technology infrastructure, conduct advanced phishing campaigns, exploit security vulnerabilities, and deploy malicious software.

It added that attackers also used artificial intelligence to develop more sophisticated attack methods, highlighting the evolving nature of cyber threats facing the global financial sector.

The UAE said its national cybersecurity framework continues to implement proactive measures, including continuous monitoring, cyber threat intelligence sharing, enhanced preparedness, and strengthened early detection and rapid response capabilities to safeguard critical digital assets and maintain the reliability of financial services.

Officials also emphasized that the UAE’s advanced cybersecurity ecosystem and strategic partnerships have strengthened the country’s ability to respond effectively to evolving cyber threats, reinforcing the security of its digital environment, protecting the stability of the financial sector, and maintaining confidence in essential services.
