Palestinian Prisoners' Society: Occupation turns torture into an declared policy
The Palestinian Prisoners' Society (PPS) stated that the Israeli occupation system continues to entrench a systematic policy of documenting and broadcasting footage of torture and abuse against Palestinian prisoners. This represents a glaring manifestation of the level of brutality reached, turning crimes of torture into a tool for public display and humiliation.اضافة اعلان

In a statement on Thursday, the society explained that the occupation has not stopped publishing images and video clips documenting repression, torture, and grave violations against prisoners. These include scenes involving systematic humiliation and practices that amount to crimes against humanity—the latest of which was a picture of a detainee from the Gaza Strip appearing stripped and brutally bound. This shocking scene embodies the ultimate degrees of degradation and abuse, adding to a long chain of crimes and violations accompanying the ongoing war of genocide.

It added that occupation soldiers constitute the primary source for a large portion of these recorded materials documenting the torture and abuse of prisoners. Despite the occupation's attempts to market these crimes as "isolated incidents," field data and prisoner testimonies confirm they are part of an integrated institutional policy involving various levels of the occupation system.

The statement pointed out that the videos published by the far-right Israeli National Security Minister, Itamar Ben-Gvir, serve as a clear example of the normalization of these crimes, contributing to entrenching a culture of impunity and encouraging the public documentation of torture practices, thereby transforming it into official behavior within the Israeli repressive system.

In this context, the Palestinian Prisoners' Society renewed its call to the international community and human rights organizations to assume their legal and moral responsibilities. It urged immediate action to put an end to the policy of impunity that has provided the occupation with cover to continue its crimes and has reinforced the approach of genocide across multiple levels, foremost among them the crimes committed against Palestinian prisoners.

The society confirmed that the occupation's crimes, led by torture, have resulted in the martyrdom of more than 100 prisoners in occupation jails since the beginning of the genocide, with the identities of 90 of them announced so far. This occurs amid the continuation of harsh and dangerous detention conditions that threaten the lives of thousands of prisoners and foreshadow the commission of more crimes against them.
