The Embassy of the United States in Jordan issued a security alert on Sunday for its citizens residing in or visiting the Kingdom, urging them to shelter in place immediately and remain indoors. This follows reports of missiles, drones, or air-to-air missiles in Jordanian airspace.

In its statement, the Embassy confirmed it is closely monitoring the situation and will continue to provide U.S. citizens with information and security updates as needed.
The Embassy urged citizens to monitor official announcements and local media for the latest developments, and to contact airlines directly regarding any potential changes to flight schedules should air traffic be affected.
Furthermore, it emphasized the need to exercise caution, stay alert to surroundings, and report any unusual activity, stressing the importance of contacting the emergency number (911) in the event of immediate danger.
The Embassy clarified that U.S. citizens can reach out via designated emergency numbers both during and after office hours, and encouraged registration in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) to receive security alerts and official updates.
