AMMAN — The Ministry of Water and Irrigation revealed that
treated water accounts for 24 percent of water used in irrigation, Hala News
reported.
Mohammad Al-Dwairi, assistant for strategic planning at the
Ministry, stated that due to the scarcity of water resources and increased
demand for water in agriculture and industry, treated sewage water has been
considered a water resource and has been added to the water budget.
The workshop was centered on the topic of "Water Treatment Reuse in Jordan: Current Situation, Challenges, and
Opportunities," and aimed to introduce the efforts in the field of treated
water reuse and discuss the regulatory, legislative, institutional, and
technical challenges and opportunities.
