First Lieutenant from the Operations Room of the Highway Patrol Department told Public Security Radio that personnel have been deployed to reinforce teams in their areas of responsibility, particularly around schools and universities, to ensure the safe arrival of citizens and students.
She noted the need for citizens to drive cautiously, expecting traffic intensity to increase in the evening with the approaching weekend. She emphasized the importance of ensuring vehicles are technically prepared, maintaining a longer safety distance than usual, and avoiding distractions while driving.
Drivers were urged to remain inside their vehicles if they break down, especially if the breakdown occurs inside a tunnel, and to contact the unified emergency number 911 or traffic officers to handle the situation.
