Jordan’s Minister of Finance, Abdel Hakim Shibli, announced on Tuesday that the 2026 general budget includes a JD 274 million increase (approximately 4.3%) in allocations for salaries of the civilian and military sectors, the security and safety apparatus, and civilian and military pensions—noting that this rise exceeds current inflation rates.

Additional allocations in the 2026 budget include:
JD 124 million for cancer treatment
JD 171 million to support bread and strategic commodities
JD 80 million to subsidize domestic cooking gas cylinders
These measures aim to maintain social support and mitigate the impact of rising living costs on households.
