In a press statement on Sunday evening, the ministry stated that it is closely monitoring the incident through its Environmental Monitoring Directorate, in coordination with the Royal Scientific Society, as part of its ongoing environmental oversight to preserve water quality and ecological balance.
The ministry also coordinated with the Jordan Valley Authority, which confirmed that samples collected two days ago showed no negative indicators regarding water quality or environmental safety.
This step is part of the ministry’s regular environmental monitoring program applied across the Kingdom. Previous samples collected two months ago and analyzed by the Royal Scientific Society showed no signs of pollution or environmental imbalance in the dam.
The Ministry emphasized that results of the new tests will be announced immediately upon availability and that appropriate measures will be taken if any environmental impacts or potential contamination are detected. Maintaining water quality and ecological balance in the country’s dams is considered a national priority.
Citizens were urged to rely on official sources and exercise caution when sharing environmental information. The ministry reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring a safe, sustainable environment and safeguarding Jordan’s water resources.
