The chief commissioner of the CARC, Haitham Misto, indicated on Friday that there are no scheduled direct flights between Jordan and South Africa.
The CARC's announcements came in light of scientists' discovery of a new COVID-19 strain on Thursday, noting that the mutant B.1.1.529 shows a very high number of mutations and can spread very quickly, according to Al-Mamlaka News.

Several states worldwide, particularly in Europe, have announced that flights from cities in the southern regions of the African continent have been stopped due to the finding of a new mutation of the coronavirus.
