AMMAN — Jordan’s Sanad mobile application,
which enables Jordanians to access digital government services, has been listed
among the winners of the World Summit Awards (WSA) in the Government and
Citizen Engagement category, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
A team from the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship
participated in the competition, alongside more than 350 applicants from 70
countries.
A ministry statement issued on Monday noted that
this is the first time the Sanad application has participated in an
international competition. Work is under way to further develop the app as a
one-stop shop for all government e-services, the statement noted.
The WSA is a global organization established in 2003
within the framework of the UN World Summit on the Information Society. It is
an awards system that selects and promotes local digital innovation to improve
society.
The organization showcases 40 winners per year
through a democratic, inclusive, and highly competitive award system, in
