Ministry of Labor spokesperson Mohammad Al-Zyoud clarified that the recent amendments to the 2025 system regulating work permit fees for non-Jordanians apply only to foreign workers employed as "cleaners" in residential buildings.

He stressed that foreign workers employed by cleaning companies or in non-residential places are not affected by these changes.
Al-Zyoud explained that any employer of a non-Jordanian worker currently holding a work permit under the job title “cleaner” (commonly referred to as a “building guard”) in a residential building, and whose permit has expired or will expire, must renew the permit under the new title “Building Services Worker” with an annual fee of 700 dinars, instead of the previous 420 dinars.
He added that any current permit under the old title will remain valid until its expiration, after which it must be renewed under the new job title and updated fee structure.
The clarification aims to distinguish between different categories of cleaning workers and ensure compliance with the new regulations affecting work in residential settings only.
