Al-Bdour arrived on Thursday in the Syrian capital, Damascus, heading an official Jordanian delegation representing the Jordanian health sector on a working visit aimed at enhancing bilateral cooperation between Jordan and Syria in the health field.
According to a ministry statement, Al-Bdour emphasized that the visit comes as a translation of the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II and Syrian President Ahmed Al-Sharaa, aimed at boosting joint cooperation and developing the bilateral partnership to serve mutual interests and strengthen brotherly relations between the two countries. This falls within the framework of the ongoing follow-up by the governments of both nations to implement the outcomes of the Jordanian-Syrian Higher Coordinating Council.
He pointed out that the Jordanian delegation includes representatives from various components of the Jordanian health sector, reflecting the Kingdom's keenness to build sustainable institutional partnerships with the Syrian side and enhance the exchange of expertise and successful practices between health institutions in both countries.
The delegation comprises representatives from the Ministry of Health, the National Center for Epidemics and Communicable Diseases, the Jordan Medical Council, the Jordan Food and Drug Administration (JFDA), the Jordanian Association of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers (JAPM), the King Hussein Cancer Foundation and Center (KHCF/KHCC), King Abdullah University Hospital (KAUH), Jordan University Hospital (JUH), the Private Hospitals Association (PHA), and the Restoring Hope Association for Amputee Support.
The visit is scheduled to include a series of technical meetings and encounters between Jordanian and Syrian health institutions to explore cooperation opportunities in several areas of mutual interest.
