The King toured several departments within the center, which was established through a partnership between the “Himatuna Seha” Association, the Ministry of Health represented by Al-Bashir Hospitals and the King Hussein Cancer Center, and partners from the private sector.
His Majesty received a briefing from Minister of Health Ibrahim Al-Bdur on the ministry’s strategy to improve the quality of medical services by developing healthcare infrastructure, increasing hospital capacity, and enhancing the efficiency of medical staff across the Kingdom.
Al-Bdur noted that, in line with royal directives, the ministry will expand the center to accommodate approximately 1,500 patients annually, representing an increase of around 30–35% compared to the current number of about 1,150 patients per year.
The King was also briefed on the center’s services by Mundhir Al-Hwarat, Managing Director from the King Hussein Cancer Center assigned to oversee the center. He explained that the center follows treatment protocols approved by the King Hussein Cancer Center and undergoes regular quality reviews that have contributed to raising service standards.
Al-Hwarat highlighted that the training of medical and nursing staff, as well as supporting services, is conducted under the supervision of the King Hussein Cancer Center.
Since its opening at the end of 2021, the outpatient clinics have handled approximately 46,000 visits, and 2,752 patients have been admitted for treatment, exceeding the center’s current capacity.
The King also received a briefing from Ali Al-Abdallat, Director of Al-Bashir Hospitals, on the treatment services provided by the leukemia department, which is equipped according to the latest international medical standards.
Al-Abdallat explained that the department’s treatment plans are implemented within an integrated healthcare system under the supervision of specialized medical staff, in partnership with the King Hussein Cancer Center.
Fadia Samara, Chairperson and Founder of the “Himatuna Seha” Association, spoke about the initiative to establish the center, mobilize support from national institutions, the private sector, and individuals, and oversee the center’s implementation in two phases.
She noted that the center includes 24 beds, a chemotherapy unit with 15 beds, three outpatient clinics, and administrative facilities, with a cost of two million Jordanian dinars. She also emphasized the vital role of the psychosocial support unit in providing counseling and assistance to patients throughout their treatment journey.
Accompanying His Majesty during the visit were Chief of the Royal Hashemite Court Yusuf Hasan Al-Isawi and Director of the King’s Office Alaa Al-Bataineh.
