Talks held on Friday between His Majesty King Abdullah II and Singaporean President Tharman Shanmugaratnam in Singapore focused on mechanisms to strengthen cooperation between the two countries and key regional developments.

His Majesty expressed his pride in the level of relations between Jordan and Singapore, highlighting the importance of building on them and expanding cooperation in the sectors of renewable energy, water, and defense.
The King praised Singapore’s support to Jordan in technological fields, enhancing the capabilities of public sector employees, and vocational training.
During the talks, which were attended by His Royal Highness Prince Ghazi bin Muhammad, Chief Advisor to His Majesty for Religious and Cultural Affairs and His Majesty’s personal envoy, the King commended the partnership between Jordan and Singapore within the framework of humanitarian response efforts in Gaza—through the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization and the "Restore Hope" initiative—stressing the need to sustain these efforts.
The two leaders exchanged views on major developments in the Middle East, with His Majesty stressing the importance of intensifying international efforts to restore comprehensive calm and support the achievement of a just and comprehensive peace based on the two-state solution.
Regarding Gaza, the King underscored the need for all parties to adhere to the agreement to end the war in all its phases.
His Majesty warned of the dangers posed by the continued unilateral measures against Palestinians in the West Bank and the violations committed against Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.
The talks also addressed the overall situation in Syria and Lebanon and the importance of supporting their efforts to maintain their security, stability, and territorial integrity.
On the sidelines of the royal visit, Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship Eng. Sami Samirat signed a memorandum of understanding between Jordan’s Telecommunications Regulatory Commission and Singaporean company ST.
The talks were attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi, Director of His Majesty’s Office Eng. Alaa Batayneh, and Jordan’s Ambassador to Singapore Saed Al-Radaideh.
