Jordan records 1,220 new COVID-19 cases

AMMAN — The number of COVID-19 deaths recorded on Wednesday reached 33, according to The Ministry of Health, while a total of 1,220 new cases were recorded in the Kingdom on Wednesday, bringing the death toll to 8,988 and the caseload to 716,923.اضافة اعلان

Breaking down Wednesday’s tally, the ministry said:

348 in Amman
304 in Irbid
108 in Zarqa
79 in Mafraq
62 in Ma'an
84 in Balqa
40 in Jerash
27 in Madaba
43 in Tafilah
27 in Aqaba
39 in Ajloun
59 in Karak

The ministry added in a statement that some 2,097 hospitalized COVID-19 patients had recovered and were discharged from hospitals, while 120 others were admitted.

The number of active COVID-19 cases in the Kingdom stands at around 11,411, according to the ministry’s statement.

Around 6.82 percent of the 17,877 COVID-19 tests that were conducted today came back positive.
