Jordan launches anti-drug awareness campaign

AMMAN — The Public Security Directorate (PSD) launched awareness campaign entitled “consciously, we protect generations”, which aims at combating drugs and increasing social attentiveness to its negative repercussions in the society, according to Al-Ghad News.

PSD’s General Inspector Anwar Al-Tarawneh said that launching the campaign against drugs is considered a part of the intensive security raids, previously announced by PSD’s Director-General, Hussein Hawatmeh, to uncover drug hideouts, and capture the dealers.



Tarawneh affirmed that spreading social awareness against drugs will help create a rejectionist and unwavering anti-drug social culture, strengthen the partnership between citizens and public security personnel, and support them accomplish their task.

He hailed participatory awareness-raising efforts contributed by all national institutions, the media and all society’s categories to achieve the goals set out, and stand together to protect society from the dangers of destructive drugs.

The awareness campaign targets all categories of the community, through messages and information campaigns showing the harm and gravity of drugs, as well as holding workshops, lectures and public events, in addition to launching a national anti-drug conference with the participation of all national institutions and components of society.  اضافة اعلان
