The ministry’s official spokesperson, Ambassador Fouad Al-Majali, said that Jordan’s hosting of the talks reflects the Kingdom’s continued support for United Nations, Arab, and international efforts aimed at achieving peace, security, and stability in Yemen, in line with the aspirations of the Yemeni people.
Al-Majali also praised the efforts of Hans Grundberg, the UN Secretary-General’s Special Envoy for Yemen, as well as the important role played by the International Committee of the Red Cross and the relevant parties in reaching what he described as a significant humanitarian agreement.
He noted that the deal marks the largest detainee release since the beginning of the Yemeni crisis.
