Pakistani Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi traveled to Iran on Monday on an official visit.
Naqvi departed Pakistan for Tehran to meet with senior Iranian officials, according to Iran’s IRNA news agency.

An official source said the Pakistani interior minister will discuss the development of bilateral relations and coordination between the two countries during his visit to Tehran.
Meanwhile, responding to a question about the objectives of the Pakistani interior minister’s visit to Tehran and speculation that he could be carrying a US message or proposal, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei said relations with Pakistan have witnessed significant growth and development across various fields, particularly in recent months.
He stressed that Iran’s foreign policy is focused on strengthening shared cultural and historical ties as part of its neighborhood strategy.
Baghaei also denied that the visit includes any special initiative or messages, explaining that Naqvi’s trip will be entirely within the framework of bilateral discussions, with the possibility that an economy minister could accompany him.
Baghaei said the main objective of the visit is to follow up on existing understandings between the two countries, particularly those that have received approval from their leaderships.
He added that it is natural for Pakistan, as a mediating party, to seek to use such occasions to raise regional issues. However, he said there are currently no indications that the Pakistani official is carrying a specific message or a pre-arranged plan from the United States.
Naqvi has previously visited Tehran several times since Pakistan began mediating between Iran and the United States. During his most recent visit on June 7, he met with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni.
