Jordan, Iraq Discuss Strengthening Parliamentary Cooperation
Head of the Jordanian Parliament's Legal Committee, MP Dr. Aref Al-Saaydeh, met with MP Sarah Iyad Allawi, a member of the Iraqi Parliament's Foreign Affairs Committee, to discuss ways to strengthen parliamentary relations between Jordan and Iraq and coordinate positions on issues of mutual interest.اضافة اعلان

According to a statement issued by the committee on Thursday, Al-Saaydeh highlighted the deep-rooted historical and brotherly ties between the two countries, stressing the importance of expanding parliamentary cooperation and exchanging legislative and oversight expertise to enhance parliamentary work and serve the shared interests of both nations.

For her part, Allawi reaffirmed the Iraqi Parliament's commitment to strengthening cooperation with Jordan's House of Representatives. She praised the advanced level of Jordanian-Iraqi relations across various sectors and emphasized the important role of parliaments in supporting bilateral cooperation and coordinating positions on regional and international issues.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides underscored the importance of maintaining communication between specialized parliamentary committees and enhancing coordination in Arab, regional, and international parliamentary forums to support common Arab causes and promote security and stability in the region.

The meeting was also attended by Jordanian MPs Ali Al-Khalayleh, Ibrahim Al-Tarawneh, and Ahmad Al-Hmeisat, during which they reviewed a number of issues of mutual interest.
