September marked the third straight month in which throughput exceeded the 100,000-TEU threshold, following record volumes in both July and August, according to the company.
Transit cargo handling remained active during the month, with 14,712 TEUs processed - a figure the company said underlines its role in facilitating trade flows between Jordan and regional markets.
Truck movements through the terminal's gates reached 45,901 in September. The company said the sustained level of activity across land and sea operations reflected its ability to manage high throughput volumes while maintaining service efficiency and reliability for customers and supply-chain partners.
José Rueda, chief executive of Aqaba Container Terminal, said the results demonstrated the port's importance to regional trade. "Recording record throughput volumes over three consecutive months reflects the strength and resilience of Aqaba's role within regional trade flows, as well as Aqaba Container Terminal's ability to support that role and meet its requirements at scale," Rueda said. "As the logistics landscape continues to evolve, we are focused on cementing the company's position as a trusted regional gateway by continuing to deliver outstanding operational performance, while maintaining high levels of connectivity, reliability and service quality to meet the needs and aspirations of our customers and partners. This performance provides us with a solid foundation to build on as we continue to contribute to the growth and competitiveness of Jordan's logistics sector."
Aqaba Container Terminal describes itself as the gateway to Jordan and the broader Arab Mashreq region.
