Jordan Free Zone Investors Commission holds elections

AMMAN — The Jordan Free Zones Investors Commission election was held on Tuesday to elect new members of the board, according to Al-Ghad News. Seventeen candidates from two blocs are running for the election, while the board of directors is composed of 10 members in addition to the chairman of the board. According to a statement by the commission on Tuesday, the general commission is composed of some 1,000 investors entitled to be elected and to take part. The election is overseen by the Ministry of Interior, and the election committee is chaired by Assistant Governor Ahmed Al-Jabbour. The commission works to promote the interests of members, organize their affairs, coordinate their efforts, foster cooperation, defend the rights of investors, and represent their interests before public bodies, in addition to participating with the free zone authorities in making decisions and recommendations on investment in free zones.
