During a press briefing at the Government Communication Forum, the Minister of Awqaf, Dr. Mohammad Al-Khalaileh, stated that the Jerusalem Awqaf Department—including all its staff—is under the jurisdiction of the Ministry. He noted that approximately 800 employees work at Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Islamic Awqaf, in addition to the Ministry’s oversight of 120 mosques and various Islamic endowment properties in Jerusalem.

Al-Khalaileh explained that an integrated schedule has been established for the five daily calls to prayer (Adhan), daily leadership (Imamate) for Isha and Taraweeh prayers, as well as programs for preaching and recitation.

The Minister further detailed that maintenance and restoration works were completed prior to Ramadan, including upgrading audio systems and cabling, installing sunshades in various locations, and providing special tents to protect worshippers from cold and rain.

Additionally, the infrastructure of Al-Aqsa was inspected, and coordination with mosque guards is underway to organize the entry and exit of worshippers, ensuring smooth and safe movement throughout the site.
