The campaign involved staff from the Ministry of Environment, the municipality, the Royal Environmental Protection Directorate, Tla’ Al-Ali Security Center, and the Community Police, aiming to raise environmental awareness among citizens, curb random waste disposal, and promote community environmental responsibility through participatory action.

Activities included distributing reusable trash bags for vehicles to encourage drivers not to throw waste from windows, and installing metal trash bins on poles and sidewalks at the four directions of Al-Waha Roundabout, providing collection points and encouraging proper environmental behavior.

Dr. Yousef Al-Shawarbeh emphasized that maintaining city cleanliness is a shared national responsibility, highlighting the importance of coordination between official institutions, local communities, and volunteers to improve urban landscapes, enhance Amman’s image for residents and visitors, and instill a culture of respecting public spaces.

He added that the municipality will continue field programs and awareness campaigns in line with the national strategy, consistent with Jordan’s commitments to environmental sustainability and public health protection.

Minister of Environment Dr. Ayman Suleiman stated that the campaign represents a practical step to enhance public cleanliness and curb negative practices related to waste disposal, noting that cooperation between official institutions and local communities is key to its success.

The ministry will continue implementing awareness and field programs to promote environmental culture and improve quality of life in cities and regions. The campaign is part of a series of initiatives planned to support the objectives of the executive program for the National Strategy for Cleanliness and the reduction of random waste disposal, encouraging responsible environmental behavior among the public.
