Amman — Starting Sunday evening, the Greater Amman Municipality will begin replacing 32,500 street lighting units in the city’s central medians with smart, energy-efficient LED lights connected to a central control system, as part of a comprehensive plan to upgrade and improve the operational efficiency of the city’s lighting network.

The municipality stated that the new system will allow remote control of lighting intensity as needed, in addition to providing the main control center with real-time reports on malfunctions, facilitating faster response times and reducing outages.
The plan also includes rehabilitating lighting in tunnels and bridges across the capital, enhancing road safety and improving lighting quality.
This initiative aligns with the municipality’s broader strategy to adopt smart solutions and modern technologies in city management and to improve the quality of services provided to residents.
