The contracts included constructing a pipe culvert from Ar-Reyadah Street to Istiqlal Hospital at a cost of JD600,000, and pipe culverts valued JD500,000 in various locations, including the Tareq area, Zayd ibn Khalid Street, and the Abdali area, Rahamneh said.

Municipality teams also cleaned culverts, sewage networks, and manholes, the spokesperson said.

Rahamneh said that the plan was implemented successfully, and the construction works would help Amman avoid the flooding witnessed during last winter’s rainy season.

Municipal staff are ready to deal with winter conditions and deploy field teams to deal with any clogs or water buildups, he added.
