The Prime Minister also instructed a number of ministers to conduct field visits to the southern governorates to assess the impact of heavy rainfall on infrastructure and to begin rehabilitation works without delay.
He stressed the need to assess damage to infrastructure and public facilities in certain areas, allocate the necessary funds for their maintenance as swiftly as possible from the emergency allocations, and take immediate measures to ensure public safety and maintain the operation of affected facilities, particularly transportation services.
The Prime Minister further emphasized the importance of continued coordination of efforts among all ministries and relevant authorities, and the readiness of personnel, equipment, and machinery, placing all available capabilities at the disposal of efforts to address the prevailing weather conditions.
He noted that the good rainy season and beneficial rainfall have increased the Kingdom’s water reserves, auguring well for a productive agricultural and water season, while stressing the need for continued monitoring of dams and water storage sites and for addressing any abnormal conditions that may arise as a result of weather depressions and regional and global climate change.
He also underscored the importance of continuing public awareness campaigns and taking seriously the warnings issued by the relevant authorities, particularly for citizens residing in areas most vulnerable to flash floods, in order to ensure their safety and avoid potential damage and accidents.
